Dominical Costa Rica Weather
The South Pacific where Dominical is located has a shorter dry season and experiences more intense afternoon rains than its northern counter part, Guanacaste in the North Pacific. Weather Dry Season Dominical From the end of December until April, the dry season in Dominical is marked with 75% humidity, and average temperatures of 26°C (79°F) along the coast with average daytime temps of 31°C (88°F) and night time temperatures of 22°C (71°F). Weather Rainy Season Dominical In the lowlands during the rainy season, May through November, 4000mm (157 in.) of rain falls annually and on the Osa Peninsula, more than 5000mm (197 in. - that's 16.4 feet of rain) of rain falls annually. This region maintains an average humidity of 75% during the dry season, escalating slightly during the rainy season, reaching 90% in July, October and December. Strangely enough, late June or July typically experiences a "veranillo" (little dry season) with a dramatic decrease in rain but is one of the most humid months. Best time to visit Dominical In the dry season Dominical gets hot the ocean gets blue and the people come out to play! Contrary to the common believe and the tourism statistic the best time to visit our area is in our opinion the green or rainy season. The reason is that the air is much fresher and clearer due to the afternoon rains and the green season is the time when our area shows the real tropical rain forest with lots of water in the waterfalls and dense lush green foliage and exuberant flowers.
