Corcovado Nacional Park
Corcovado Nacional Park is considered the Third most biological National Park in the world by National Geographic because it hosts the 2% of the entire world’s biodiversity. It was created in 1975 and protects approximately 54.539 hectares of humid tropical rainforest and 2.400 hectares of pristine ocean. It has become an international attraction.
Corcovado National Park hosts more than 400 species of birds, 140 species of mammals, 116 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 6.000 species of insects. Six natural eco-systems have been identified in the park and it protects endangered species such as jaguar, puma, crocodile, tapir, poison dart and golden frogs and the harpy eagle. Jaguars, anteaters, tapirs, deer, wild cats, spiders, monkeys and a host of rare tropical animals inhabit these lands and surrounding waters.
The tour is through scenic paths so that the tourist can harmonize with nature.
We will leave at 7:30 am from Punta Uvita. The minimum number of people for this tour is 4 adults. Food, park entrance, and safety features are included. The tour is guided by a local guide who knows the area.
